Renting a bike with us
The everyday questions, answered in plain English. Anything not covered: email us or WhatsApp +34 659 94 56 21.
Booking, dates, and changes
How does the deposit work?+
You pay €450 per bike at booking via WooPayments. The balance — €114/day × bikes × days + any gear and airport pickup — is settled in person when you collect the bike. Deposit is fully refundable up to 14 days before your rental.
What is the cancellation policy?+
Cancel up to 14 days before your trip and we refund the full deposit. Inside 14 days the deposit is non-refundable, but we will hold it as credit for a future rental within 12 months.
Can I change my dates after booking?+
Yes, one change is included. Tell us at least 48 hours before the original pick-up date. New dates must fall within 12 months of the original. Subsequent changes incur a €40 admin fee.
Do you have minimum and maximum rental lengths?+
Minimum is 3 days. There is no maximum — long rentals (10+ days) get a per-day discount automatically applied in checkout.
How many kilometres are included?+
Mileage is unlimited on rentals of 7 days or more. For rentals of 3–6 days, 300 km/day is included; additional kilometres run €0.30/km.
Picking up the bike
Where do I pick up the bike?+
Our garage is in Vigo, Galicia (Spain). Pickup at Vigo airport (VGO) is included at no cost. We can also deliver the bike to Santiago (SCQ) or Porto (OPO) airports, or to your hotel in either city, for a flat per-group fee — see the airport pickup pricing page.
What are pickup hours?+
9:00–10:00 in the morning and 18:00–19:00 in the evening. If you arrive late, we can usually accommodate same-day evening pickup with notice.
Early pickup or late drop-off — is it free?+
Yes. If your scheduled pickup is in the morning, you can collect the bike the previous evening at no charge. Same for return: if scheduled at 18:00, you can return the next morning by 10:00 for free. Returns later than 10:30 are billed an extra day.
Can I pick up the bike outside Vigo or our listed airports?+
On request, for a fee. We deliver across Galicia and Northern Portugal at €1.50/km from the Vigo garage. Get in touch with your delivery point and we will quote.
Can someone else pick up the bike for me?+
No. The named rider on the contract must be present to collect, with valid ID and license. Multi-rider groups must have each rider present to sign.
Documents and requirements
What is the minimum rider age?+
23 years old, with at least 2 years of motorcycle licence experience for our middleweight bikes.
Which licence do I need?+
A valid motorcycle licence from your home country. Any equivalent motorcycle licence — North American, UK, Australian, anywhere — is fine. No International Driving Permit required.
What ID do I show at pickup?+
Valid passport or national ID and your motorcycle licence. Originals only — copies on phones are not accepted by Spanish law.
Do I need to fly with my own gear?+
No. We rent everything — helmet, jacket, gloves, pants, airbag jacket, even a tent and camping bundle. Per-day rates on the booking page.
What is included in the daily price
What does the €114/day cover?+
The bike itself, full coverage insurance (theft + damage + third-party), two side panniers and a top case, 24/7 roadside assistance, basic GPS route files for Galicia and Northern Portugal, luggage storage at the garage, and Spanish 21% VAT. The number you see is the number you pay.
Is the GPS included?+
Yes — we provide free curated GPX route files for Garmin or any phone app (Calimoto, MyRouteApp, Rever). For Garmin Navigator hardware on the bike, add €8/day at booking.
What about helmets and gear?+
Optional, per-day rates: helmet €5, jacket €7, gloves €5, pants €5, airbag jacket €12, tent+camp bundle €12 (fits two on the bike), health insurance €17. Add at booking or at pickup.
Insurance, deposit, and damage
What does the full insurance cover?+
Damage to the bike (CDW), theft, and third-party liability — all included in the daily price. Excess deductible on damage is €450 per incident. You can buy a zero-excess upgrade for €18/day.
What if I drop the bike at low speed?+
We have a standard scratch policy: cosmetic damage under €150 is on us. Above that, the excess deductible applies. We document the bike condition with you at pickup and at return.
Are speeding tickets handled?+
Spanish traffic fines that arrive after your rental ends are charged to your card, plus a €25 admin fee per ticket. We forward you the original notice so you can dispute if needed.
What happens if the bike breaks down?+
Call our 24/7 number — one phone, in English, anywhere in Iberia. Roadside assistance is included. If the bike cannot be repaired same-day we deliver a replacement to your location at no extra cost.
Where you can ride
Can I ride into Portugal?+
Yes, absolutely — Portugal is included by default. Our routes are designed to cross. No extra fee, no paperwork.
Can I ride into France or other EU countries?+
Yes, with notice. Tell us in the booking notes which countries you plan to visit; we extend the insurance and confirm. There is no fee for France, Andorra, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Italy. Morocco and the UK require explicit written authorisation.
Off-road or dirt riding — is it allowed?+
Light gravel and unpaved access roads are fine on the Ténéré 700 (it is built for it). Sustained off-road riding, motocross tracks, or rally-style use voids the insurance — please don’t.
Track days or circuits?+
Not allowed. Use on race tracks voids insurance and contract.
The bike
What bike do I get?+
Currently we run a Yamaha Ténéré 700 — 689cc parallel-twin, light, GPS-ready, with three hard cases. More bikes (BMW R 1300 GS, F 900 GS, K 1600 GT) join the fleet through 2026.
Can two of us ride one bike?+
Yes. The Ténéré is a comfortable two-up bike. Add a Comfort seat (€40 for the trip) and pack lighter. Tent + camp bundle is sized for two-up riders.
Can my group swap bikes between riders mid-trip?+
Yes, as long as both riders are named on the contract and both have valid licences. The named rider on each bike at the start of any leg is the responsible rider for that leg.
Day of pickup and return
How long does pickup take?+
About 45 minutes — paperwork, walkthrough of the bike, GPS files loaded, gear fitted, route briefing. Plan for an hour at the garage.
Can I store my suitcase while I ride?+
Yes — free luggage storage at the garage for the duration of your rental.
What happens at return?+
We inspect the bike with you, confirm fuel level, and process any add-ons. If everything is in order the balance is settled by card or cash. The €450 deposit is released within 5–7 business days.
What if my flight is delayed?+
Call or WhatsApp us — we will move your pickup time. No fee for flight delays under 24 hours.
