Airport transfer · Evening

Route: 30-minute orientation: bike controls, panniers, GPS, insurance recap, route briefing.

Highlights: Tapas crawl through Rúa do Franco and a glass of Albariño to settle in.

Hotel: Vigo/Nigrán.

Pickup: Santiago de Compostela (SCQ) or Porto (OPO) airport; transfer to Vigo/Nigrán.

1

Costa da Morte loop · Vigo/Nigrán → Fisterra → Vigo/Nigrán

~350 km · 5–6 hours riding

Route: AC-543 to Negreira, then the AC-552 along the wild Atlantic. Past Muros and Carnota, climb to Cabo Fisterra (the Romans’ “end of the world”). Return inland via Brion.

Highlights: Cabo Fisterra lighthouse, Praia das Catedrais detour optional, the granite hórreos of Combarro.

Recommended: O Centolo in Fisterra — seafood right at the cape.

Difficulty: Easy. Coastal twists, sweeping curves, light traffic.

Hotel: Vigo/Nigrán (return).

2

Rías Baixas coast · Vigo/Nigrán → Cambados → O Grove

~120 km · 4 hours riding

Route: South via the AP-9, then break onto the AC-305 coastal road. Through Vilagarcía, Cambados (Albariño wine capital), the A Lanzada beach loop, and out to the Illa da Toxa peninsula.

Highlights: Albariño wine tasting in Cambados (Bodegas Martín Códax), oyster bars in O Grove, sunset on A Lanzada.

Recommended: Pepe Vieira (1 Michelin star) if pre-booked, or any pulpería in Cambados.

Difficulty: Easy. Flat coast and short bridge crossings.

Hotel: O Grove / Illa da Toxa.

3

Down to the canyon · O Grove → Ourense → Ribeira Sacra

~220 km · 4–5 hours riding

Route: Inland via Pontevedra and Lalín on the N-525, then OU-536 into Ourense, then south of the river to follow the Sil canyon roads through Parada de Sil and Castro Caldelas.

Highlights: Pontevedra old town, hot springs in Ourense (Termas de Outariz — free), the Sil canyon viewpoints, Romanesque monasteries hidden in the hills.

Recommended: Restaurante Nova in Ourense — modern Galician cuisine.

Difficulty: Moderate. Tight switchbacks above the Sil; let off the throttle and enjoy the canyon.

Hotel: Nogueira de Ramuín (Ribeira Sacra) — a 12th-century monastery hanging over the Sil canyon. One of the most spectacular hotels in Spain.

Return through wine country · Ribeira Sacra → Santiago

~230 km · 4 hours riding

Route: Wind out of the canyon to Monforte de Lemos, then north on the LU-933 through the Ribeira Sacra vineyards (some of the steepest commercial wine slopes in Europe). Cross to Chantada and onto the LU-211 / N-525 back to Santiago.

Highlights: Adega Algueira (winery, lunch optional), Romanesque chapels along the route, the Belesar reservoir.

Recommended: Adega Algueira — winery lunch with views of the terraced vineyards.

Difficulty: Easy to moderate.

Hotel: Vigo/Nigrán (return)..

5

Drop-off · Vigo/Nigrán

Airport transfer · Morning

Route: Transfer to SCQ or OPO airport for outbound flight.

Highlights: Optional extension: add 2 nights in Santiago to walk the cathedral and explore the old town.

Bike drop: Morning return at the rental office, paperwork, final coffee.
