Costa da Morte loop · Vigo/Nigrán → Fisterra → Vigo/Nigrán

~350 km · 5–6 hours

Route: AC-543 to Negreira, AC-552 along the wild Atlantic to Cabo Fisterra. Return inland via Brion.

Highlights: Cabo Fisterra lighthouse. Combarro hórreos. Coastal sweepers to settle in.

Recommended: O Centolo in Fisterra — seafood at the cape.

Difficulty: Easy.

Hotel: Vigo/Nigrán (return).

Rías Baixas coast · Vigo/Nigrán → Cambados > O Grove

~70 km · 3 hours (light day)

Route: South via AP-9, then AC-305 coastal road through Vilagarcía, Cambados, A Lanzada beach, out to Illa da Toxa.

Highlights: Albariño tasting in Cambados (Bodegas Martín Códax). Oyster bars in O Grove. Sunset on A Lanzada.

Recommended: Pepe Vieira (1 Michelin star) if pre-booked, or any pulpería in Cambados.

Difficulty: Easy.

Hotel: O Grove / Illa da Toxa.

Across to Portugal · O Grove > Tui > Viana do Castelo

~120 km · 3–4 hours

Route: South via Pontevedra and Vigo. Cross the Miño at Tui/Valença. South to Viana do Castelo via Caminha.

Highlights: Tui and Valença fortifications, the Atlantic at Caminha, Santa Luzia sanctuary above Viana.

Recommended: Caminha riverfront — grilled fish.

Difficulty: Easy.

Hotel: Viana do Castelo.

Into Peneda-Gerês · Viana > Braga > Amares

~150 km · 4–5 hours

Route: East via N201 to Ponte de Lima, then N101/N304 to Braga. From Braga, N308 into Peneda-Gerês NP.

Highlights: Ponte de Lima riverfront, Bom Jesus do Monte, alpine roads, wild horses, granite peaks.

Recommended: Ponte de Lima — Açude in the old town.

Difficulty: Moderate. Park switchbacks.

Hotel: Amares (Peneda-Gerês).

To the Douro · Amares > Chaves > Douro Valley

~210 km · 5 hours

Route: East across Trás-os-Montes via Vila Real on IP3, drop south to the Douro via the legendary N222.

Highlights: Chaves Roman bridge, Vila Real, the first view of the terraced Douro vineyards.

Recommended: Vila Real — Terra de Montanha.

Difficulty: Moderate. The famous N222 twisties.

Hotel: Pinhão (Douro Valley).

Douro wine day · Vineyards, river, port

~140 km loop · 4 hours (rest day)

Route: Pinhão up N323-3 to Sabrosa, across to Casal de Loivos for the panorama, down to Régua, lunch by the river, N222 east to Pocinho and back.

Highlights: Casal de Loivos viewpoint, Quinta do Crasto port tasting, Foz Tua railway bridge.

Recommended: DOC by chef Rui Paula on the riverbank in Folgosa.

Difficulty: Easy. Photos and wine.

Hotel: Same as Day 5. Port tasting on the terrace.

Back across the border · Douro > Bragança > Verín

Route: North on N212 then IP4 across Trás-os-Montes to Bragança, cross back into Spain at Verín.

Highlights: Bragança citadel, wide empty roads of inland Portugal, the spa town of Verín.

Recommended: Solar Bragançano in Bragança — game and chestnut dishes.

Difficulty: Moderate. Long day, empty roads.

Hotel: Verín.

Into the Ribeira Sacra · Verín > Ourense > Nogueira de Ramuín

~150 km · 4 hours

Route: N-525 north to Ourense, south of the river to follow the Sil canyon roads through Parada de Sil and Castro Caldelas.

Highlights: Ourense hot springs (Termas de Outariz — free), Sil canyon viewpoints, Romanesque monasteries hidden in the hills.

Recommended: Restaurante Nova in Ourense — modern Galician cuisine.

Difficulty: Moderate. Tight switchbacks above the Sil.

Hotel: Nogueira de Ramuín (Ribeira Sacra).

Final ride home · Ribeira Sacra > Lugo > Santiago

~230 km · 4–5 hours

Route: Out of the canyon via LU-933 through the Ribeira Sacra vineyards, north to Lugo (Roman walls walk), then N-547/A-54 to Santiago.

Highlights: Adega Algueira winery, Lugo Roman walls, the granite landscape of inland Galicia.

Recommended: Adega Algueira — winery lunch with terraced vineyard views.

Difficulty: Easy. Wrap-up day.

Hotel: Vigo/Nigrán. Farewell dinner in Vigo.
